Résumé français
Influence of palmipeds on the growth of truffle oaks: assessment after 5 years of tree plantations on courses Agroforestry refers to a positive image of animal welfare in association with the terroir and its products. Indeed, the system associating the palmipeds with the production of walnuts AOC Périgord showed its interest both on the shade in the summer for the geese, and with the improvement of the speed of shoot and fruit production of the trees linked to the valorization of geese droppings by walnut trees. This new experiment had the advantage of extending the tests to a little studied production in this configuration: the production of black truffles. Indeed, in the south of France, there are many truffles (2 000 ha planted in the Dordogne, Lot, Lot et Garonne and other departments of Aquitaine and Midi Pyrenees in the past 20 years) which, in an agroforestry system, could allow the use as much as possible the space available by palmipeds while providing the trees with the nutrients allowing a better early root development which is the key element of the production of mushrooms. The trial involved the realization in 2011 of 2 courses of 0.48 ha with 83 truffle oaks (holm oaks and mycorrhizal INRA) each. The experimental setup consists of a control course without palmipeds and one with palmipeds. The impact of this association "palmipeds - truffle oaks" in terms of tree growth and truffle production in the medium to long term has been measured. Measurements of the composition of the soil have been made in order to see the effect of the presence of palmipeds on such a course. Between the first and fifth years, truffle oak growth was higher (+ 16% and + 39%, P <0.001) on the animal courses compared to a non-animal control. The chemical composition of the soil showed some stability between the control route and the animal route with C / N ratios between 12 and 9. At this stage of the study, no mushroom was found which is normal because the average production age is 7 years. However, in view of the results, it can be assumed that the growth of trees favored by the presence of the palmipeds, without agronomic imbalance of the soil, will lead very quickly to a production of truffles thanks to the early optimization of the root development of the oaks.
