L'agriculture est la forme la plus élémentaire de subsistance et de travail depuis le début de la civilisation humaine. Les méthodes naturelles de culture la production et la maintenance ont pris un coup avec la croissance de l'humain population et demande de plus de nourriture, donnant lieu à la révolution verte. La révolution verte, apparemment efficace, s'est avérée plus nuisibles que bénéfiques, nuisant au sol, à l'eau, à la santé humaine, en en d'autres termes, l'écosystème dans son ensemble. Cela a amené l'humanité à un précipice, où ils s'inclinent lentement vers l'agriculture biologique pour la subsistance. Dans cet article, nous discutons de l'agriculture biologique dans le contexte socio-écologique récent, son statut mondial actuel et perspectives.

Agriculture has been the most basic form of livelihood and work since the beginning of the human civilization. The natural ways of crop production and maintenance took a beating with the growth in human population and demand for more food, giving rise to the green revolution. The green revolution, apparently effective, proved to be more detrimental than beneficial, harming the soil, water, human health, in other words, the ecosystem as a whole. This brought mankind to a precipice, where they are slowly inclining towards organic agriculture for sustenance. In this article we discuss organic agriculture in the recent socio-ecological backdrop, its present global status and prospects.
