Résumé
In 2017, the “Instituut voor Landbouw-, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek” (ILVO) and the pilot centre Proefcentrum Pamel initiated the ‘LegComBio project: Creating added value in organic agriculture through sustainable combinations of vegetable crops with free-range poultry’. In this project, we are investigating how a single parcel of agricultural land can be used more efficiently (optimising production) and more sustainably by using a well-considered combination of vegetable crops with runs for (organically-reared) poultry. This adds a new dimension to the ongoing research into the cultivation of short rotation wood in free-range chicken farming.
