Résumé
Since Genetically Modified (GM) food/plant was discovered, there has been an eminent worry regarding the safety of it. The concerns were raised by various stakeholders, including consumers and environmental Non Governmental Organizations (NGO), and it is still an important subject matter in the present and probably in the future. GM food/plant is a complicated issue and the major concerns are the health and environmental impact it provides to the consumers, the society and the environment. The main purpose of this review is to evaluate the present situation and development of GM food/plant including the current experimental method that is used today and any improvements since the technology was invented. In further discussion, the controversy in connection with it and the reasons of the arguments will also be reviewed and examined due to the product being heatedly debated until today. Furthermore, GM food/plant will also be compared against organic food and the advantages and disadvantages of GM food/plant according to several literatures will also be listed out. All the information written in this paper is properly reviewed.
